We feel so lucky to be able to celebrate our nation’s birthday today! We are in the Western-most capital city of the country – Victoria – and they certainly put on a great party!
We have now been travelling for the year….and although there are many beautiful and fabulous countries to visit….there is no place like Canada!
We are very lucky to call this country our home! Happy 148 Canada !

In fact, while we were watching the fireworks last night, we both said how the lit up legislature buildings reminded us of the President’s place in New Delhi on Republic day!

Uh yeah…it was all part of our master plan….actually not true at all! We are in Victoria because while in Alaska, I was able to apply for a housesitting spot – and we got it! Surprise! So here we are in Victoria and just loving Vancouver Island – absolutely gorgeous out here. Our blog will take you through our time in Alaska >>Vancouver>>Whistler and then to Victoria. I just couldn’t resist posting the Canada Day post – it just made us feel so happy:)

We are glad we were here to celebrate….according to our original plans – we were going to be in California by now…but that’s all changed. Glad to be in Canada – it was very special:) And we felt very patriotic…a few tears were shed when we all sang the anthem.
