Happy New Year from the Global Fieldtrippers!

Happy New Year – All the best for 2016!

Our last Global Fieldtrip Night highlighted our exploration of the Holy Lands (Israel and Palestine) along with Jordan and Cyprus.  There were close to 50 people in attendance even though it was on a Friday night.  Of course we started off with foods from the region, such as fatoosh, baba ganoush, lots of hummus, challah and of course our favourite, shawarma with all the fixings!

Our slide session shared the centuries of stories and the wonderful people we met along the way.  Of course we focused upon the traditions of Hanukkah and Christmas.  One of our neighbours, Megan, did a fabulous job sharing how her family celebrates Hannukah in Toronto, including how to play different Dreidel games.

To celebrate the start of the Christmas holidays we feasted on sweet desserts, including baklava, halva, and Hanukkah donuts.  Afterwards, the kids entertained us with beautiful holiday music.

There is nothing better than sharing our traditions and holidays and learning from each other.

Thank you to all those who attended our Holiday evening!  We look forward to more fun and travel adventures in the upcoming year!
