There’s a Leek in the Pot!

,

At Uncle Soto and Tante Gisela’s house we had many delicious German meals.  One was a leek soup which I really enjoyed and decided to make it for my German recipe.

Here is the recipe:

4 Leeks

2 cloves of garlic

2 packages of fresh cream cheese

1 package of ground meat

1 vegetable boullion cube

A dash of salt

A dash of pepper

A dash of dill

Oops! Not Philadelphia... It is supposed to be the fresh cream cheese.
Oops! Not Philadelphia… It is supposed to be the fresh cream cheese.

      1. Boil four cups of water while you are following the instructions from 2 to 5

2. Slice the leeks.

3. Slice the garlic.

4. Cook the meat with the garlic.

5. Once the meat has cooked, add the leeks, dill, salt and pepper.

6. Add the water once it is ready.

7. Add the vegetable boullion cube.

8. Add the cream cheese and stir the mixture.

9. Let the soup simmer before serving if you wish.

10. Don’t burn your tongue while you are enjoying!

It is so yummy and I would definitely make it again!  Thanks to my Tante Gisela for the delicious recipe!

  2. Hi, Zoe, now I know why Opa planted approx. 50 or more leeks in his garden this year! Love the recipe and will for sure make it. This Leek Soup, a bagette with that, and then Mikhailas’ desert will make a perfect meal. Thanks for another good recipe from the Kitchen of the world travellers. XOXOXO’s
