A Saturday in County Clare

,

Saturday
We woke up the second morning north of the city of Limerick.  We got out of bed got ready and had breakfast.  After breakfast we said goodbye to our new friends, who were off to their summer vacation in the south of Ireland.

The Hurling team!
We decided we wanted to go to an Irish dancing  Workshop in Clarecastle where they were having a ceili (a town festival pronounced kay-lee).  When we got there we watched a few dances and then decided we want to dance also.   We got up and after the first dance we were having a lot of fun and every one clapped for us.  We danced for about 1 hour and a half.  Back in Toronto we had seen a show at the theatre called Heartbeat Of Home, which also had Irish dancing, but the dancing that we did today was more of like a jig and the dancing in the Heartbeat of Home performance had more kicks and jumps.
In the evening we went to the City of Limerick to see a limerick competition.  Here is the limerick that I wrote:
I went to this big green land
And I wanted to join a band
I played the drum
But hurt my thumb,
and now i don’t feel so grand

There once was a family of four
who were itching to get out the door!
    They packed up their bags
    and Canadian flags,
    Bound for adventure and more!

    Exciting stuff, everyone! 🙂

    1. Thank you for that Limerick that you wrote. That sounds exactly like us!

      We really enjoyed your poem,
      especially when far from home,
      It makes us feel nice,
      to give some advice,
      On how you should roam!
