Nessie: Fact or Fiction?

,

Have you ever wondered if the Loch Ness monster is real? The answer to this question is yes, Nessie is real. I know this because there have been many personal accounts, scientists have never been able to disprove this, and I saw Nessie myself while here in Loch Ness.

There have been over 1000 Nessie sightings that have been going on from 1933 all the way to 2005. Quite a few sightings were reported a couple years before the “Nessie craze”, so they can’t all have been hoaxes. The captain of our boat, George Edwards, said that he had seen Nessie quite a few times, as he has spent most of his life on the loch.

As for the scientists, they lack the technology to search for Nessie because it hasn’t been invented yet. They led a whole operation called the Loch Ness Project, led by Adrian Shine, and used sonar to attempt to find the monster. The scientists have not found any proof that the Loch Ness monster isn’t real.

I got the chance to see Nessie while we were on our cruise of the Loch Ness. I was able to get a decent picture, which should convince all of you scientists reading this!

All in all, there is lots of proof that Nessie does exist, through eye witnesses, scientists without any conclusive evidence saying otherwise, and my own personal experience with this monster. Maybe now I can turn my attention to convincing the world that unicorns are real….

  1. Hi, Mikhaila, well you convinced me! And you certainly gave me the “chuckle of the day”. I just love to read all your posts and it becomes clear, that within the learning experience there is a great deal of fun mixed in for all. Thanks for giving me a fun start of the day.

    1. Hi Oma,

I’m glad that I was able to convince you! This trip has been full of fun and has been a great time for all of us. We have been learning so much and just having the time of our lives.

  2. Hi Mikhaila,
We went there and I spent a lot of time looking at the water for Nessie. Although I did not see her I believe that she is real!

    1. Hi Teta Amanda,

I think Nessie just shows herself on occasion! You never know where or when you may see her…. As you can see from my photograph, she wasn’t feeling shy that day!

  3. I also believe in the Loch Ness monster. It is so cool that you’re in Scotland trying to see him.

    1. Hey Thomas,

It’s really nice to read your comment! I am glad to hear that you also believe in Nessie. Maybe we can work together to convince the rest of the world!

  4. Hey Mikhaila, that is the best picture of Nessie that I have ever seen! I have no doubt anymore, even though I didn’t catch a glimpse when I was at Loch Ness. It is a beautiful Lake, isn’t it? Looks like the weather is still co-operating. By my schedule, you are all in France now! So Au Revoir for now….
    Love to everyone,
    Teta Doreen

    1. Hi Teta Doreen,

I agree that Loch Ness is a beautiful lake. It almost reminds me of Lake Louise in Alberta, because both bodies of water are so blue and beautiful. The weather has been really nice, and I’m crossing my fingers that it will stay this way for the rest of our trip!

  5. Mik, I love your sense of humour! Love, Baba & Papou

    1. Hello Baba and Papou,

What do you mean? I’m not being funny, I am completely serious!

  6. Mikhaila,
I am enjoying your posts very much! I too looked for Nessie when we visited Loch Ness a few years ago!! Diana Gabaldon writes a series of books (unfortunately for adults) in which the heroine passes through some standing stones and travels through time. They suggest in the books that there are such stones at the bottom of Loch Ness and that Nessie passes from present to past to present through the stones. This explains why she is seen sometimes and then not for years. I really liked this explanation very much!!
I loved Scotland!! Your posts are bringing it all back!!
