“These are a few of my favourite…scenes”

At this point in time we have driven just over 5000 km since the beginning of September!  We have seen some really beautiful scenery along the way.  Of course, 9 times out of 10 we see some stunning vistas while we are driving.  Our conversations during these trips usually go like this:

Oliver:  “Wow!  Look over there!”

Katina: “Beautiful!”…pause… “Get your eyes back on the road!”.

For some reason, the car seems to drift a bit left or right when I’m looking around!  I swear it’s not me, it’s the car!

As we entered France from Italy I had to pull over and take these photos before I went off the road!

One night at our house sitting home in Divonne-les-Bains, France, we had a huge thunderstorm, and I was able to catch these electrifying photos from inside the house.

Walking through the hills, we were given the gift of beautiful vistas…

We didn’t have to go out into the mountains to get beautiful views.  In Geneva, we were treated to…

We all agree that our travels from Italy to the Geneva area have given us some of the most breathtaking views we have had to date.

  1. You are so right Oliver! The scenery is beautiful! It reminds me of a hymn called “For the Beauty of the Earth.” Love Mom P.

    1. Hi Mom,

This area was truly God’s Country. The landscape is absolutely breathtaking, and reminds me of our times in British Columbia and Alberta when we’ve driven through the Canadian Rockies.

  2. Beautiful. That middle photo looks as though you took it from the sky!

    Stunningly beautiful!

    1. Hi Karen,

Thanks…the views are almost as beautiful as Katina! 🙂

  6. Hi, Oliver, absolutely beautiful pictures – and “Wow” is right. What a beautiful world.

    1. Hi Mom,

It is a beautiful world, and so much to see! Who knows what views our next adventure will bring?

  7. Photos are so cool!!!!

    1. Hi Ted,

The photos just barely capture what we saw! Sometimes we see these beautiful scenes and don’t even take a photo because the lens can’t capture what our eyes see. We just ‘burn’ the vision into our memory…

  9. Thanks for my new screen saver photos!

    1. Hi Colleen,

Freely shared and free for you to share them! I keep on changing the background picture on my laptop as well!

  10. Amazing photos Oliver. I believe you about the car swerving, Kat just doesn’t understand about how cars react to scenery.

    1. Hi Scott,

I figure that as long as I don’t drive off a cliff I’m good…that’s why there’s zero-deductible insurance! It just doesn’t seem right that the car should not have the chance to enjoy the scenes as well!
